The sun is still shining and we just keep on running….. Don’t you just love Wednesdays ;-).

Yesterdays task was both worthwhile and truly tiring. If I am honest I think you will have all slept well.

We were contacted by a CIC called SportsWest who are currently doing great things in Westminster

SportsWest has been active for around 3 years now and is made up of young people and adults from the local community. They work in schools with young people at risk aswell as putting on holiday provision and acting as role models for people who for what ever reason are missing out on some real positivity in their lives.

SportsWest are commissioned by the council to run holiday schemes in the 3 different areas across Westminster. Academy Sport, St Andrews Youth Centre and Churchill Gardens.

Yesterday we paid Churchill Gardens a visit so we could see what a difference programs like this make to the attendees and their families.

Of course that’s not all we did

We spent the first half of the run in two teams delivering leaflets to young people and also through letter boxes. Sound easy? Did I mention that this was in relay format… On opposite sides of the road…Against the clock? It appears I also forgot to mention that we also delivered leaflets to the top floor of the Churchill Gardens Estate and of course we used the steps. Up and down, up and down ;-).

Following on from our visit we went for some intervals along the thames, popped in and said hi at the Westminster Boating Base where we will be doing a task in coming weeks and then split up into two teams once more and headed back. Some took a longer route than others but all in we ran between 8-10k.

Thankyou all for coming, your time and energy as always is really appreciated.

Roll on next week, and please please please continue to do Small Things With Great Love

Cory
