A chill in the air tonight for the secret seven at Goodgym Bath and with temperatures dipping below freezing there was no time to waste. A much needed warm up on the bridge before hitting the pavements in Bath for a swift 4k run out to tonight's task and being careful to avoid any of those icy patches.

We took a very indirect route out to tonight's task at Manvers Baptist church to paint the quiet room, a project we started a few weeks ago but I have to say I think we were all happy the task tonight was inside. Manvers Baptist church is an open house centre providing many community groups and a place of welcome for all in the city and with a vast variety of rooms for hosting the wide variety of groups I think we have a lot of work here

Weaving our way through the streets of Bath to keep warm the focus was very much on some muscle burning leg work for the group tonight with various location stops for squats, standing leg raises and a very nice post to post walking lunge session all topped off with a plank athon in kingsmead square, with a quick group photo beneath Bath Thermae Spa and I must say the steaming waters of the rooftop pool look very inviting, but lets press on as we have a job to do.

Peter was there to greet us at the church donning his Russian hat he looked very masterful and for a moment I though he was going to show us a Russian dance ( now that would burn those muscles). He led the group back up to the quiet room where Rollers are ready for Pete's paint party.

Splitting into two groups with Pascale Anne and Anna cutting in with brushes, some going high and some going low but always working in harmony and being closely followed by Sarah Sam and Suzy with Rollers at the ready to fill in the spaces. Although this was the quiet room it was great to hear the chitter chatter amongst the group tonight as everyone got to know each other a bit better. It took just 40 minutes and the group had that room licked with paint, just showing how much a Goodgym Gang can do in a short space of time. We even managed to come away unscathed with no trace of paint on each other.

We had just enough time for a quick tidy up before putting the furniture back in the room and saying goodbye to our host tonight. We took the short but swift run back to the leisure centre to stretch those lovely legs out. As always great work tonight Goodgym Bath you should feel proud. Thank you to Pascale for tonight`s pun

We have missed our lovely student Goodgymers over the last few weeks but wish them well in their exams this month, looking forward to seeing you all soon. Sam had a great idea to have a bring a friend along night, so lets make this happen.

Don`t forget to bring your ID along to the next group run and get signed up to visit an isolated older person.
