Hot off the tails of more local volunteering me and Jill headed off to meet Mrs A. The weather was looking more optimistic than forecast and Jill needed some good fortune as she got soaked during her first mission. We were greeted by the lovely Mrs A and her husband who we found out was quite the runner in his heyday, also was keen to continue with that! Our first task was to rake the leaves, Mrs A and the local friendly Robin kept us company throughout. Mrs A seemed happy to have the company and kept us motivated. The second part of the task was to dig and turn over the soil to be ready to add compost. We got stuck in, my hands getting dirtier as the minutes past as I forgot my gardening gloves. Mrs A gave us a much needed respite as she offered us a cup of tea. Straight back to it we finished up by adding the compost and mixing it in. We cleaned our shoes before heading off. Mrs A seemed happy at the work we had done and was keen to have us back again, here's hoping! Would be great to go back there again, until next time!
