GoodGym Brent stormed into February with an almighty Track session last night, marking a completed January and first month as newbie borough for the GoodGym Fam.

With a sterling turnout on one of the coldest nights of the year so far, the team got straight to work with a warm-up mile on the old red circuit of fun..... BRRRRRRRRilliantly completed in under 9 mins, now onto the task.

Our fantastic hosts as Willesden SC are a community run site and struggle to maintain the outside space of the centre, in particular the enormous amounts of rubbish thrown onto the athletics training area from street traffic every day. Step in ..... GOODGYM BRENT, we up for the challenge, raring to go, without a moment to WASTE we set to work.

Spurred on by the challenge set by Bodil....."The most amount of litter collected and bags filled wins a prize"
What's the prize? Someone shouts: "A snickers will do" You're on!

25mins later and after a series of surprising finds..... 4 nappies, vodka, vodka more vodka, crisps packets X 50, 1 for sale sign...... and then........there's a scream, "A RAT"!!! No, false alarm, just mud and a strategically placed stick/tail lookalike. PHEW That really RATtled us, but we crack on.... RO-DON'T Stop us now, we're on a roll*.

Whistle blown for time and we regroup. A final count is done and the number is..... 15 bin-bags!!!! Such an awesome effort from the whole team that Ellie decides next week will be treat day for the whole squad. Everyones a winner when we've WHEELIE BIN working our arses off!

With the last 40mins we head to the track - 8 Laps for speed and time consistency....... GO. They bite hard into the wind, lap after lap, cold wind shooting down into their chests, every single person giving everything they have for their own personal challenge. With only 1 minute recovery in between, they burn through the last few and to their surprise stay within a range of 5-10 seconds each lap, despite feeling the fatigue kick in.

With the last lap to go, they give it everything they have and speed through the last 400m to complete the first ever GoodGym Brent Track session of all time!!! BOOM. With steely determination and team support they smashed it out of the park.... Truly Awesome stuff.

So we bid you farewell red circuit of dreams, until we meet again on the first Monday of every month.

This is Goodgym Brent...... DONE
