Radishing Reward

What a night we had last night!

Yesterday we ran 5k to the peppermint centre where the ever smiling and bubbly Pam was awaiting us, she had an array of tasks for us to do in and around the raised beds. She quickly explained what she would like us to do, so that the group had ample time to complete the various jobs before the time keeper (me) shouts out time was up.

We welcomed back Emma, Louisa and Pinal for their second and third visit. Check out their handy work on the flower display in the tyre in the before and after photo. Elsewhere in the group the others were all busy weeding and preparing the raised beds for planting, they had peppers, tomatoes, sweet corn and pumpkin along with some other flowers that could not fit into the flower display in the tyre. While the chain gang were busy planting Ros followed close behind with the water can watering the plants/vegs, at some point when she caught up with the planters and no flowers and veg to be watered she began watering Sarah's feet.

Not that it was a challenge or we treated it as one but we completed all the tasks Pam had lined up for us with a bit of time to admire the work we had done, one lucky runner even got a raddish to take home. With the task completed we headed back to solutions, for those who were interested in planting there own flowers and veg the was a bag with sun flowers and runner beans, the competition is on later in the year they will be keeping us updated on the progress.

We had feedback from Steph and Ros about their weekend Parkrun adventure at Lloyd Park, and how much better they felt after completing the run, they were filled with adrenaline for the rest of the day. Congratulations to Emma on completing her first parkrun also. Ros, will be attempting the same feat again this weekend "chasing that high again. Fortunately for Steph she's heading off to South America, we are all love, hating her after hearing about all the things she has planned. (loving the things she will be doing, hating the fact we are not going to be there to enjoy it all with her)

Our neighbours over in Bromley will be doing a parkrun take over at South Norwood Parkrun on Saturday, many roles still available sign up here.
