Southwark

Mission

Quick on the Drawer

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.

It was a very speedy mission on Sunday morning for Steve and Anna. Mrs P needed two drawers and a cupboard reattaching as they had broken. It was quickly apparent when we arrived that the drawers had come off their runners, and Steve popped them back in within a few seconds.

The cupboard was slightly more complicated, but with some ingenuity with a spoon, Steve also fixed this quickly while Anna gave the reattached drawers a wipe down.

We asked Mrs P if there was anything else to help with and she asked if we could reattach her shower screen. Sadly this was far beyond our skills and the tools available so instead we settled in to something we were far more suited to - a cup of tea and a chat (and playing with the cat).

When tea was finished, and nursing a few scratches from the "playful" kitty, we headed off back into the snow for a slippery, icy run home.
