Walked to and from my Coach JJ’s today. JJ was full of their Christmas plans, excited to be visiting their children for two weeks over Christmas. JJ dropped a huge hint that they would put their tree up but was waiting for someone to bring it down. I was mindful of the fact that JJ would be away from Sunday until the New Year so she wouldn’t get the benefit of it and maybe the family wouldn’t thank me if the tree caused a hazard, also Age UK frown about befrienders doing any kind of errands for the service users. It’s a shame as it would have been a lovely little activity for JJ and I to do together. The time passed with our usual chit chat and as I left there was another heavy hint that JJ’s Christmas cards for the neighbours needed putting through their doors. There was clearly no harm in doing that for them so I offered to do it, I thought JJ meant immediate neighbours, little did I know it required a full circuit of the cul-de-sac, fortunately it’s not a very big street and it was still a pleasure to do it.
