After a lovely long run along the canal with team GG Lambeth myself and Magda joined the folks at Trees for city’s to help plant a trees in a park in South Ruislip. Trees for Citys are a cracking organisation which do what they say on the tin and enable city’s to plant more trees in there green spaces. This was my first experience and all I can say was it was amazing to see how many volunteers they had got involved. So after myself and Magda signed in, we were welcomed by not only our leader Tom who showed us how to plant trees but also but the weather which decided to deliver an almighty hail storm, however amazingly the volunteers all kept on digging and planting it was very impressive. The aim of the day was to plant 5,000 trees and by 2 pm we were struggling to find any more to plant so we decided it was time to head back and hopefully warm up. It was a cracking task and cant recommend the organisation highly enough they had loads of tools and were really helpful and friendly. Thanks for having us and thank Mark for organising the run and task. Nice one, Tom
