Oh no! Water we gonna do!? 😱

Kaz and I turned up on this fine Saturday morning to help Tom out at Hillside Gardens.

When I arrived Kaz was already at it, up and down with a wheel barrow, collecting leaves. The pressing task this time was to correct the position of a water tank (fed by a gutter pipe), which had collapsed due to having been supported by pallets which had rotten.

That thing was pretty heavy! But between us we managed to angle it to one side to drain the water. Chucking away bucket after bucket. The tank was then moved away, the pallets replaced and as a group the three of us put it back in place.

Kaz and I spent the next 20 minutes running up and down with wheel barrows collecting leaves which the other Hillside volunteers had brushed up into piles.

As we left Tom explained that we had a delivery of trees 🌳 coming. The next two sessions listed will be preparing the ground for planting first, and secondly the planting itself. That will be a nice one to be involved in. Very rewarding!
