Wow, what an active evening for the 7 GoodGymers who smashed a fitness session and cleared Flowerpot playing fields of litter! Awesome work team!
It was a bit of a blustery and slightly chilly evening but fantastic to see you all turn up in your red t-shirts, ready to get stuck in! It was certainly a busy evening for us at the Flowerpot playing fields, no pottering around!
We started with with a socially distanced fitness session! For 30 minutes we worked hard with the following drills:
- Indian running- a great fartlek, overtaking each other whilst running
- Speed work- you know you only get faster as a runner by actually going out there training to run faster!
- Circuit training- this involved 5 different stations AND a running element
After the fitness session we did a safety briefing about the litter pick and then set of in 3 small groups. It was incredible how much litter we found! In 30 minutes we filled 9 bin liners with bottles, cans, plastic packaging and wrappers. Amazing work team!
We really made a difference!
A BIG CHEER to everyone who took part! You totally smashed to fitness session and the litter pick was much needed! Next week we have 3 great community missions. we'll help Whipton Barton School create an outdoor class room and help Wonford Planters with gardening plus another litter pick. Take a look here and sign up! I can't wait to see you soon!
