Here's what Ms J of SW11 had to say about the mission:

Mrs J called to say a huge thank you for the help in her garden this weekend. Amazing work!

Ms J of SW11, mission beneficiary

Myself and Arba met outside the front door. Arba had run a solid 7km from Hammersmith down south to Wandsworth. I ran from Peckham from a morning park run. Need to make the most of the British summer. With the wind behind our backs we were pushed along and arrived on time to be greeted by the lovely Mrs. J.

Mrs J. Brought us out to her back garden and we got to work on the weeding. Rather alot of stubborn weeds and dry grass to be pulled and tossed into bin bags. We chatted along the way and updated each other on upcoming races. Who knew you could run a half marathon through a vine yard in the south of England while stopping to test taste the wine along the way. Sounds rather boozy and brilliant!

We were fortunate Mrs. J had lots of tools πŸ› οΈand gloves! As we had brought no gloves. The wind also thought it best to shake things up a little and by the end of our mission we had a bin bag knocked to the ground and sticky green ball things stuck to my trousers and cotton fluff in Arba's hair - who knew flowers in your hair just so happened spontaneously!

Mrs. J had a marvellous runway ie. Path leading to her flower beds but it looked like MOSS had made an appearance. We used the spade to lift the moss from the path and pulled any stubborn weeds.

And... JOB COMPLETE. Now, at this stage Mrs. J was ready to walk the runway! And that is exactly what she did! Gleaming at her garden she quoted ' I can see clearly now the weeds are gone' 🀣 then proceeded to strut the runway ie. Path. A whole new kind of MOSS made a scene πŸ‘€. She did a little fashion show on her garden runway. Turning her hips to the left wing and waving to us. Turning her head back to us and giving a twirl she strutted to the right wing and waved at her pansies and with a smile she thanked us very much. She is planning a BBQ with all her extended family in the summer time and was grateful the garden is now cleared.

She brought us inside and offered us a drink and some fruit. Satsumas and bananas which we happily had after all that gardening and... Laughter!

We said our goodbyes and thank yous and off we went! Mission done, πŸ’―
