One of the Aldersbrook locals sent out a cry for help - all sorts of rubbish had been dumped near the allotments and could find its way into the nearby Wanstead Flats or even the river Roding. The council had been alerted, but with the festive period in full flow, there wasnt much hope Redbridge council would be able to take swift action... so it was time for a Goodgym litter session!

But much to Lina's amazement, the council indeed found some time and cleared away the pile of rubbish reported! Not to be outdone, we still grabbed gloves & binbags and started to clean up the nearby paths and into this corner of Wanstead Flats. Picking litter & chatting, an hour went past without much notice, other than several bags filling up with all sorts of rubbish found, some of which really raised some eyebrows on how it got there (bag of bits of copper pipes anyone?)

job well done, we alerted the council to the bags of litter for their collection and went on our way, happy with a satisfying end to 2019
