On a chilly winter night four of Goodgym Redbridge's finest runners met to climb walls, weed a garden bed and ran 6km in the process.

During the summer of 2017, GG Redbridge helped Wanstead Community Gardeners reclaim a piece of unloved land near Snaresbrook station. Weeds and rubbish were removed and wild flower seeds were planted. This bit of formerly unloved land has gone on to flourish and no longer attracts rubbish like it used to.

This weeks task was to reclaim a new bit of land on the otherside of the station. Weeding needed to be done and rubbish removed before seeds can be sown. A relatively small job but one that will transform the area in time for the summer. With Peter, Maja and Kristian all working hard to tidy the plot up the task was soon done and ready for the next phase - planting.

This gave the group plenty of time for a run around Eagle lake and some easy stretching back at base. Go Team!

Next week, we head out into the streets of Wanstead to spread the word about a clean up initiative that is happening in a few weeks time. You can sign up for it here
