20 runners ran 5km to mulch 15 apple trees at Kings Cross Community Orchard.

This week we welcome Ben, Rob and Katherine to GoodGym Camden.

Kings Cross Community Orchard is a GoodGym Camden favourite and after some time since our last visit it was great to be heading back to see what was new.

Our task this week was to mulch 15 apple trees. Splitting into small teams, the runners got to work ripping up the overgrown grass from around the base of the trees. Once the cardboard had been laid around the cleared tree, the wheelbarrow racers relayed deliveries of compost to cover the cardboard around the trees.

Mulching at a rate of 1 tree every 2 minutes

After mulching the apple trees, we headed to the Regents Canal Towpath to stretch our legs with 2.5km and 1.5km options. On completing the run, runners were welcomed in with a pot of maca powder generously donated from the Community Orchard.

Maca increases energy levels, stamina and endurance*

Next week sees the return of run leader Frances at the helm, why not sign up to her session now?
