This week was a very unique meetup...

Our group run started a little earlier than normal for a special occasion; we have been shortlisted for a Proud of Barnsley award from the Barnsley Chronicle, and took part in a short filming session to spread the word about GoodGym and what it is we achieve in our local community. We are excited to be nominated and just happy to be able to share with more people what it is that we do. Mairead joined us for the filming, and we were also joined by our lovely last trainer Grace and our long-time member Sharon - always nice to see familiar faces and enjoy an evening together doing a bit of good.

After the filming at the Chronicle offices, we grabbed our trusty binbags and litter pickers and got to work on tidying up our local streets. Tonight's peculiar finds included a dummy, a nappy, and a baby's bottle. We picked up a huge amount of plastic bottles, although thankfully we came across a large commercial plastic recycling bin, which we gladly recycled some of the litter into.

Throwing in a bit of extra fitness into our evening, we practiced our one-legged deadlifts when picking up litter and a few bicep curls with the heavy bags.

And now, we look forward to next week's task. It's almost upon us: the Halloween special! 🎃

Expect some Halloween-themed games, music, and prizes. Spooky costumes are highly encouraged. 👻
