Since starting a new job in October last year I haven't been able to get involved volunteering with GoodGym at all, hence I thoroughly enjoyed being back doing good this afternoon as part of the Newcastle January litter picking relay! Even in just a half hour loop of the village I now live in I was able to almost fill up a bag of rubbish, the highlight being a fried chicken box which lends itself to my highly tenuous KFC-based title pun. As usual with litter picking, you get caught in the moral dilemma of feeling happy that you were able to pick up so much whilst being disappointed that it was there in the first place! Hopefully I'll be back amongst the GoodGym community soon, but in the meantime, I may well continue a weekly litter pick to help keep my new surroundings clean and tidy and get my fix!
