Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Meanwhile in Westminster we continue to run our way through the month of January. Todays taster session was brought to you by myself and the lovely people at St Saviours church in Pimlico and the task at hand was a simple one. Remove all the rubbish from the church grounds and get rid of all of the leaves that had been blown onto the path and walk way.
Now as 20 out of the 25 people who came today were first timers an extended briefing on the awesomeness that is good gym was needed. What is good gym? Why do we do what we do and how else are people able to get involved.
A few reps around the block to get warm, some ridiculous drills a few intervals and it was time for the task. Brooms, bin bags and gloves were handed out, a safety briefing given on the dangers of handling leaves and what may be hiding in them and we were off.
30 mins later and the gardens were spotless, no leaves, no rubbish i think we may have even got rid of some of the concrete, thats how thoroughly we cleaned the area.
We downed tools and now it was time for part two. Block sprints of a different kind. We jogged over to the nearby estate to get warm once again then headed into churchill gardens where we thought it would be exciting to do some drills up the stairs and down the stairs, why? Its speed and strength work in disguise and of course i know everyone really loves it ;-)
What better way to spend your Sunday?
Hopefully all of you enjoyed and will therefore be back AND you will bring your friends....
Till next time.
