Two GoodGym-ers arrived at the Brough Food co-operative a little soggy from the ridiculous June weather, to help out with kitchen duties and veg prep. Jen got to work sorting through a pile of donated carrots, peeling like ninja, whilst Ally weighed out all the ingredients for a mammoth carrot cake. We also sorted through a box load of squishy cherry tomatoes, making sure all the ones left to go out onto the 'shop' floor were of good quality, and then finished up by helping portion up the blueberry muffins into cases to be cooked, and then bagged up ready to be put on the shelves for the customers on Saturday! Adam, the hub coordinator kindly gave us each a warm blueberry muffin straight from the oven to try - after all, we needed to check the 'fruits' of our labours!

Borough Food Cooperative

The Borough Food Cooperative opened in October 2020. With help from organisations like FareShare, the Borough Food Cooperative acts as a subsidized supermarket, offering members to stop in and pick up £15-£20 worth of groceries for £4.50. The Cooperative is open during lockdown to provide essential supplies to local households
