Following this morning's task at Eastwood Farm, 6 of us ran the scenic route to Barton Hill Settlement to help FoodCycle with their deep clean. They have their popular weekly meal at the Settlement and with some team changes this was the perfect time to reset and refresh.

We met Roz and Sarah there who were already hard at work with the other volunteers. Roz was cleaning tables, Nathalie and Vale got stuck in with the kitchen team and the rest of us had two main tasks. We sorted through all of the food to check best before dates then set to work moving the storage boards from the garage to Justin's car to travel to their new home at Birmingham FoodCycle. A lot of 'to-me, to-you'ing later, and we had all of the boards in the car (and we weren't even bored).

Unfortunately we had to head back to leave the rest of the team to it, but not before Justin had plied us with boxed of Katy Percy energy balls. Not Katy Perry, as Chris pondered her foray into the health food business, but we listened to her bangers for the jog home (ft. Chris' shopping trip-esque look with his finds) in honour of her nonetheless.

Wellspring Settlement
Enabling our community to actively participate in positive, life-affirming activities

Wellspring Settlement enables our community to actively participate in positive, life-affirming activities. We offer a unique space for residents of Barton Hill and the wider area to celebrate, learn, create, develop, relax, socialise and play. From young people to the more mature; from new residents of our locality to those who have lived here all of their lives are all welcome.
