Bona-fide handyperson James and enthusiastic amateur Rachel headed out on a dreary afternoon to help Ms L fit a curtain rod in her bedroom. She decided it was too wet for us to tackle fitting a lock on the shed outside today. Done and dusted in no time, James got to work straightening up her wonky wardrobe doors.

Ms L has lived in this house for 2 years, but has been unwell a lot of this time, so not been able to invest a lot of time in making it her own. She'd love to do the simple DIY jobs herself, but her arthritis means she struggles.

Since we were done with the task so quickly, we got to chatting about other tasks we could help with. Ms L was overjoyed and would love to have us back for painting, weeding and assembling flatpack, as well as the shed lock that we didn't get to today.
