We set off on a rather long run to Lundwood in order to help maintain a section of the National Cycle Network. There is a valley to run into and out of on the way there so the fitness session was definitely included in the run on this occasion! Especially as it was to be done on the way back too.

On arrival at our designated section of the trail on Route 67, there was no time to lose as much litter was lying around. Clearly, some revelers had had a good time outside one of the disused railway tunnels on the trail but had neglected to take their rubbish home with them! So a large amount of bottles, cans, paint tins!, cigarette butts and food wrappers were cleared up courtesy of GG! Whilst picking this rubbish it was only right to get some squats in too.

Cutting... back on track!

Further work on the trail was in the form of cutting back overhanging vegetation with a small saw to keep the trail safe and passable for all users.

After a solid session cutting back branches and filling 2 bin bags with litter and collecting a pushchair, it was time for the lengthy run back to base. Stretches were performed and a stock take of what was achieved taken including the 9km run!!
