Report written by James Smith
In the first of four weekly community missions throughout January, 3 GoodGymers ventured out into their local areas to rid them of rubbish.
Plogs in a well oiled machine
Michelle spruced up a shabby looking Sharrow Road making it super shiny once more. She also found a large commercial waste fly tip that was too large to tackle, not to mention it also harbored some unruly urban rats! She reported it to the council who will send a specialist team to sort it.
James did a pick around Kendray, not finding anything on the scale of Michelle's monstrous discovery but still managing to bag up a full sack of the usual detritus... cigarette butts, plastic bottles, cans and fast food packaging etc.
Hannah.... well it's a mystery where Hannah plogged, but wherever she did I'm sure it's much better for her doing it! She's been busy training for and running the Round Sheffield Run (winter edition) lately so it's even more impressive that litterpicking was factored in too.
On our group run this week we'll also be going plogging; this community mission acting as a good warm up of the grabbing muscles we shall be using on Wednesday evening.
