Today I have checked out on Mrs D, as part of the weekly Good Gym social visit, which she loves. She is doing well, all things considered... She still has her birthday cards pinned up on the door, she wants to enjoy them for a little bit longer, which is only fair. We talked some more about hospitals and doctors and nurses and all that. She told me a story, when she wanted see her doctor, but couldn't get an appointment with him. She went to the local surgery and the nurse there asked her to come the next day. The next day when she got there, the nurse told her that the appointments had already filled up. But Mrs D is not one to give up easily... She remembered that the doctor was also practicing at another surgery. So she went there another time, got hold of the doctor on the hallway, told him all the troubles with not being able to get an appointment and the nurse that was not being helpful, at which point the doctor asked: Are you crying, Mrs D?... And she replied: I'M NOT CRYING!!! It's the dry eye, they are watering! ... And how daft is that, to call it 'dry eyes' when they actually water! 😂
