Here's what Miss M of SE11 had to say about the mission:

They did very good. They did a good job out there, what with the rain!

Miss M of SE11, mission beneficiary

Myself and Dan arrived on a rainy bank holiday Sunday to get our Green fingers to work.

We were greeted by Mrs M and her daughter we said our hellos. -Her daughter showed us to the garden and explained the tasks her Mum would like us to do.

All the tasks were to clear/create a safe path from the back door to the back gate.

Dan started by flexing his biceps with a non electric lawnmower to cut the grass. I got stuck in trimming back weeds and ivy that were overhanging over the path.

During intermittent heavy showers we filled four sacks of garden waste.

In no time grass was cut, overhanging weeds were cut back, moss removed from the path to make it less slippery for Mrs M.

We said our goodbyes :

Dan set off for a cycle home and I set off for an elongated 13km run home.
