So it was time for what is becoming my regular shift at the Birmingham Central Foodbank which I really look forward to at the end of the week. Today was mostly about dating food and then sorting it to ensure that we use the oldest first and eliminate as much waste as possible. There was a huge amount of food to sort which kept us all pretty busy through the morning, and it’s great to see so many donations still coming in during these challenging times for us all. It’s always very upbeat with the radio blasting and before I know it the shift has ended. It’s then a quick debrief and time to make my way home in the sun!
