On what was a surprisingly bright sunny October afternoon 3 runners set to out to complete their GoodGym mission which happened to be my first, hopefully the first of many.

The task was to weed and trim plants for Ms R. This was split into two areas and after being given some tools Monica who by the way was completing her 50th good deed (congratulations) tackled the overgrown front garden. While Amber and I went to back garden to begin trimming back the branches of the bush hanging over the path, pull the weeds from the “crazy paving” Ms R’s own words, and trim the various plants around the garden.

After initially leaving us to get on with the matter at hand Amber and I were later joined by and Ms R who chatted to us about GoodGym and her family.

At the end of the task we had completely filled the garden waste bin and both the front and back garden looked much less overgrown. Ms R commented on how much difference an hour makes, thanked us for completing the task and saw us on our way. All 3 runners left and set off in their different directions with the assurance of seeing each other at the next group run.
