A whopping two GoodGymmers turned up last night for a trip over to Wickham Hall in... yep, in Wickham.

Sarah and Simon wasted no time in travelling the 4.5k (all of which seemed uphill) over to the task.

Our job was to have a bit of a clear up: litter, cigarette butts and weeds. While working the delightful local volunteer John appeared and thanked us for our efforts and let us know he'd just sprayed the weeds with weedkiller. They did seem to come up quite easily. How quickly does weedkiller act?

We managed to full a respectably-sized kitchen bin bag with assorted debris which isn't bad for two GoodGymmers in about 15 minutes. Sarah also had time to run around giving the exterior windows a bit of a clean, which required a bit of jumping (do good; get fit. See!) to reach the higher panes.

And back home we ran, looking forward to going downhill instead of up on the way back, although the elevation had mysteriously changed while we were working and there were still a few hills to contend with.

A nice "runner's" stretch back at base and we were done. Lovely.

We are back next week for a trip to Bromley and Downham Youth Centre.

Be there!

xxx,
Simon
