The morning’s rain dissipated in good time for us to do this outdoor mission. I had arrived early and had a little run around the area. I got back in plenty of time to stretch and meet Fiona. All we had to do was find the right house, which we had a surprisingly difficult time with as google maps was sending us the wrong way. A quick phone call and we were soon greeting our hosts and finding out about the task.

We were taken around to the back gate. Well, we had to take their word for it as weeds had grown into a small jungle outside their back garden. Armed with tools we ventured in, cutting away at spiky brambles and head level branches. Our host explained that their landlord doesn’t maintain the area as they used to as well as many other factors which had led to it all becoming overgrown. As well as having a great chat and well-needed laugh, we teamed up well to make good progress through the weeds. At one point I accidentally found that some of the thick branches of a bush were not as healthy as they looked. So I was able to pull them out of the ground, making me look a little stronger than I really am.

After an hour and a half, the back gate could be seen and a rough pathway could be made, allowing the couple to have access to this part of their house again.
