Sheila and Juli had a tough act to follow - Kanika and Diya had done an amazing tidy-up job on Mrs B's front garden a couple of weeks ago, and it was now time to tackle the back! The garden has obviously been well-loved and tended, but since Mr B died a few years ago, things have got a bit out of hand. Mrs B is in her 90's , and a delightful lady. Juli got straight to work on cutting back the buddleia, and chopping up the branches to make best use of the green bin. Meanwhile Sheila started pulling out the ivy which was strangling the lovely shrubs in the borders, and before long had amassed a huge pile. Once we thought we had earned it, we gave in to the offer of a cup of tea (served in the best china) and were also treated to some home-made orange-flavoured shortbread. Delicious! Mrs B was extremely appreciative of our efforts, but it is a very large garden. It would take a large team of people to restore the garden to it's former glory, but we hope she can begin to take some pride in it again.
