Garden scoop for Mrs D

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Richmond.

Today's mission was definitely a heatwave mission - a garden rescue in the midday sun for Mrs D.

This lovely lady certainly needed the help of GoodGym as her garden had run wild.

We got straight to task after being shown the lawnmower, the trowel (or should I say poopa-scoopa), the loppers, and shears. And oh my goodness how lucky my mission buddy Samia had prudently brought along 2 pairs of gardening gloves...because we sure needed them. Samia, you are my saviour!

Mrs D seemed to welcome our company and a chat whilst we worked. We also heard her friendly neighbour's cheery voice over the fence 'You OK Mrs D? Do you have everything you need? Anything you want?'. This was reassuring as Mrs D told us she was as good as housebound, if it wasn't for the wonderful community day centre at The Avenue in Kew run by Kew Neighbourhood Association - who provide a lunch club, company and even a haircut if she needs it.

There was even time for a spot of fruit spotting for Mrs D - we were able to update her that her plums were still ripening and that there were even a few raspberries and blackberries.
