It was a solo trip to Sainsburys and Aldi to collect the surplus food for FoodCycle today. Neither my partner in crime not me were down for collection this week, but after a panicked text message from the regional office and juggling my work diary around a bit I was able to get to the supermarket on time to pick up. At first it didn’t seem that there would be much food to take, but then one of my new found friends at the store went off looking for additional food items and came back with a second cage with crates full of bananas, apples, rhubarb strawberries and etc. So much fruit… so there would be plenty of scope for the cooking team to come up with a great pudding. With the car full to the roof I was glad the traffic wasn’t too busy for my trip to Aldi and then to the church to unpack all the booty!
