On Saturday morning three south London GoodGymers met up in Brockley to make a start on clearing Mr and Mrs J's garden. We had been warned it was going to be a big job but Mr and Mrs J's daughter had lots of tools to help us tackle the job. A mix of long grass and brambles, we attacked it with a strimmer and shears, using the grass to the protect the bin bags from the sharp brambles. Having cleared one patch, Chris spotted a frog from next door's pond. It hung around long enough for us all to have a good look before hopping back through the fence. The combination of a frog and our chorus of 'ouch' every time a bramble managed to get through our gloves brought this gem from Paul McCartney to mind. With more still to do there is going to be a return visit but after a couple of hours we'd made quite a bit of progress and Chris had even discovered a hidden path.

Look out for the return mission - 10am 20th August!
