On a sunny Sunday morning, two GoodGymers met up with Rubbish Walks near Foxhall Stadium to help clear up several 'grot spots' which Rubbish Walks had come across a couple of days before. After a quick briefing, Jason (Rubbish Walks) led us to the furthest spot, from where we worked our way back to the meet point. With a good turnout, the first area was cleared in no time and we moved on to the next, picking up odd bits from the paths along the way. Soon the bags were filled and replaced, and the total collection was an impressive sight! Finds of note included a traffic cone (full size), folding chair (rusted) and motorbike (no tax/MOT). It was clear that this task will have a great impact on the environment in this area.

After the rubbish had been collected, Jason planned to sort it all into recyclable/non-recyclable and then deposit the bags in the right bins. Alex volunteered to stay and help with this, whilst Lizzie snuck off to work (how convenient).

It was great to see so many people out on a Sunday morning getting stuck into the task, including Sally, who had overheard some discussion about the task at the Twilight 5k the night before!

Unfortunately, due to the task leader waking up less than an hour before the meet time, no sticky buns were provided. It is suggested that more qualified leaders resume the role for next time.
