One runner scored a home victory on food waste by collecting the equivalent of 34 footballs (15kg) of unwanted supermarket food; there was so much, they had to go into extra time. It was placed in the Community Fridge in the Central Library for anyone to enjoy, without a penalty. Final scores included: Scotch Rolls 7 - English Muffins 0 Swedes 2 - Carrots 1 They think it's all over, it is now!

Exeter Community Fridge
We rescue surplus food from supermarkets across the city and give it away to all via a publicly accessible fridge in Exeter Library in order to reduce food waste.

As above. We need volunteers to pick up surplus food from designated businesses and drop it off at the Community Fridge. Quantities of food can vary but we will aim to match individual volunteers to particular pick-ups. Pick-ups are usually in the morning and the fridge is open during library opening hours. We are primarily a sustainability initiative.
