Report written by Bournemouth runner
So this evening's run although it was one of our favourites was also one of our saddest. It was Daniela's last group run with us, as she is moving back to Paris this weekend. Daniela is one of those people who light up a room, makes everyone feel great about themselves and brings sunshine into the darkest places. A truly lovely person who we have been very lucky to have had on our runs. She clocked up 15 in total, but she's going to be with us on many many more.
Daniela, thank you for being you we wish you all the best for the future and we hope we cross paths with you again soon!
It was a bit of a wild and soggy day in Bournemouth but in true Good Gym style...the rain cleared for our run and only the wind remained. Very lucky for us. Not so lucky was that the gang found out that the meeting location was closing sooner than usual so we had to improvise and find an alternative place to store our stuff.......in walked a tall, dark and good looking guy with a beard and a black Good Gym t-shirt....named Neil.....who had made the wise choice of driving to the meet up location for a change and became our savior! All hail Neil!!!!
We also welcomed Ashok to the area after running in Ipswich with Good Gym....we are always happy to steal good people!! What a keeper too! Make sure you support him and cheer him on! He's moved to Bournemouth to help with research into improving mental health in primary school children. My kind of guy!
Dan was also back to celebrate Spurs strolling into the next round of the Champions league with us. And it was lovely to have Jenni back as well! We are so lucky to have such amazing people on our group runs!
The group managed to put together a really good pace on the way out and back, Daniela making sure no one was left behind....unless they were tying their laces and hard to spot! Alex was there to guide us and put us to work right away. Making up food parcels for singles and couples. Ashok, Chris and Grace made short work of that and the rest of the gang sorted through donations and managed to tidy up at least 14 boxes! Great effort for 25 minutes!
Then we sped back, collected our stuff from Neil's Ferrari and headed to the pub for a drink and some doggy cuddles and to celebrate Daniela.
Some are getting together Friday in Southbourne for the event at Velo Domestique to celebrate with Daniela. All welcome. Daryl and Caprice are running the Lamer Tree this weekend, Daryl the Half and Caprice the Marathon....on a very wet and hilly route! Please wish them well!!!!
Thank you Grace for the Run report title, waaaay better than than my recent efforts!
Guys, see you next week!! Make sure you make someone smile before we see each other again next week!
