32 GoodGymers ran between 5-10km, delivered leaflets for Abbey Community Centre and did gardening with Cecil Sharp House!

Welcome along to the newbies this week; Matt, Sarah, Stacey and Rachael - great to have you along!

In the news this week Tom Benson talked about the first ever GoodGym Olympics, it’s going to amazing and taking place on Saturday 10th June. There’ll be everything from the egg & spoon race to the 5000 metres! Check it out here.

Cecil Sharp task:

17 of us headed the 1.8km through the streets of Camden to Cecil Sharp House, we go here on a monthly basis to help out. We met the wonderful Susannah who talked to us about the impact we’ve had over the last year in maintaining the pathway and garden.

Our main task tonight was to clear the pathways of debris and weeds using handy brush tools, brooms and Alex using just his hands! While the main group worked their way around the back garden area a team of four watered the grass with a special seaweed liquid mix which helps encourage the eco-communication systems in the ground.

Within 20 minutes the task was done and we’d made a massive difference – well done all! We said our goodbyes to Susannah and headed to Primrose Hill for a fitness session, first off shuttle runs and then a core, glutes and balance session.

Abbey Community Centre:

Pritesh led his favourite task to Abbey Community Centre, he had an amazing 15 runners tackle the 10km and leaflet drop with him.

The subject of leafleting this week was based around the new Community Café opening in May, the Centre needs both volunteers and people to go along to it. Once the team had conquered the 5km there, including a run up Primrose Hill, they split into teams and got delivering!

Impact!

In no time hundreds of the leaflets were delivered and a community informed about this new exciting project. This just shows the impact we have in the Camden area.

Thanks for coming guys!

Sign up for next week here, we are off to Skip Garden.

PB out.
