12 runners, hundreds of leaflets across 5 miles of Ealing made up last night’s group run!
Last night we met to deliver flyers on behalf of Ealing Half Marathon to let residents know about the upcoming event at the end of September. Every year this fully closed road event takes place across the borough so we were helping by giving those areas that will be affected as much notice as possible that they won’t be able to use their roads as normal on that day!
Getting behind an event that benefits our community
Ealing Half Marathon is a CIC which means they put on the race to raise a surplus which is ploughed back into community projects!
After a group warm up were we welcomed new member Abhi we ran together down towards the Hanwell area where we split into two teams to cover as much ground as possible. We agreed a time and meeting point to regroup and then it was all systems go! The time flew by and when we reformed we had lots of empty hands and only a few leaflets left between us. Good job guys!
HIITing the spot…
Taking a slightly more scenic route back we weaved around the back streets of Ealing to arrive back at Haven Green for a little fitness session before rounding off the night. It proved to be a bit of carnage with lots of HIIT exercises to do and remember but everyone got their heart rates up which is the main thing!
Big thank you this week to Chris for sharing summer squash with the group from his garden!
Remember you can still sign up for EHM either as a volunteer or a runner. If you volunteer this year you also get a free place in next years event, winner!

Hopefully see lots of you at the BIG West London social on Thursday or at next week’s group run!
WE RUN EALING is the charitable arm of the award-winning Ealing Half Marathon. We deliver community-focused running initiatives, many of which are free and open to people of all abilities. Previously known as EHM Legacy, thanks to Ealing Half Marathon, we have done heaps of stuff over the last ten years to help get people moving in Ealing. We have had installed a new drinking fountain installed Lammas Park – popular with humans and dogs! During lockdown we arranged events to encourage Ealing residents to run or walk to dozens of local parks. More recently we have brought the Blended Trails trail-running concept to Ealing and launched Ealing’s first ever Food Bank Run, in partnership with GoodGym and parkrun.
