I started my shift with a full large trolley and several crates filled from the morning shift. I set myself a target to fill the 1.5 crates still empty and to leave a full trolley. I managed to make eye contact with a few people, and some took a list of the items which were ideal for the food bank. It was slow going, but by 5pm, I'd hit my target, and had some lovely conversations with the people donating. It's always very gratifying to see how generous people are, and especially at the moment. It was also great to see the children so keen to do their bit and be interested in what the Trussell Trust are doing. I left everything where it was with the understanding that a Tesco's member of staff would be organising the storage until collection.
