Mission

Don’t take ‘a fence’

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.

Saturday morning saw Victoria and I arriving at Mrs B’s house to repair some damage caused by the ferocious winds last week. Her already aging fence had taken a battering and needed some emergency surgery!

We didn’t have much to work with apart from some twine and a shovel so it was a bit of a Crystal Maze challenge. My initial attempts to hammer the posts back in proved too risky as the wood was so old. Executive decision was taken to rely on the string (in lieu of wire) to reconnect the fence line, which was relatively successful and a decent short term solution before a new one is fitted.

Job done and Mrs B seemed happy enough so we left her in peace.
