A Mothering Sunday trip to The Three Pigeons Plot and The Arcade to deliver compost donated by Mortlake Alsfords provided Harry and I with an opportunity to do a few gardening tasks.

I concentrated on trying to disguise the two ‘paths’ that have developed (leading to the Insect Hotel) by planting 5 new shrubs and relocating a number of blue hyacinths and Liriope Muscari. The plant moves were particularly rewarding, not only disguising the tracks but also creating visually pleasing ‘drifts’ of planting.

I returned to The Arcade at midday to meet up with Nicky, chair of The Richmond Society’s Environment and Landscape Committee. We discussed GoodGym Richmond’s proposals for the Arcade Rockery and with a few small changes, the RicSoc will be happy to give us the greenlight .
