Tonight's task saw 13 super lovely Goodgym runners take to the streets of the city centre with a cool 6k run in total to spread the news about the various community groups hosted by st Johns hospital from stitch Friday, yoga Pilates and silver swan ballet for the over 55's , I can join this one soon ...GULP!!.

A very warm welcome to two lovely new runners this evening Rosie and Lydia.

Yet another miracle this evening with the showers taking a break whilst we ran but returning as we finished, someone is surely looking down on us Goodgymers.

we had nine city locations to visit tonight with a task and drill at each to spread the news by putting up posters at each location and taking it in turns to do the task whilst the remainder of the group were put through their paces with a variety of fitness tasks from Steph with a helping hand from Ellen, Kenta and Pascale adding some of their favourite fitness drills.

First stop was the library with squats in the foyer and poster popping, a lovely elderly lady stopped to say she had read about us and what a super idea she thought it was ....GREAT TO HEAR.

The group ran the short distance to Harvest health food shop to post a poster or two and enjoy a few hill reps before a swift shift past Schwartz burger bar and onto ring a bell at The Bell and some Pascale jumping jacks before the next long stretch through the streets to The Old Green Tree and some Kenta jumping lunges.

The streets were busy tonight with lots of people visiting the Christmas markets but great for drawing attention to ourselves and spreading the good news about Goodgym. The Raven was calling for the next stop with a dose of calf raises and it was noted that Emma was pitch perfect with this one and for those who did not know Ellen pointed out that Sherlock Holmes was filmed in this very street and they say you learn something new everyday.

Green park station was calling and in particular Post box 4A but not before Steph took advantage of pairing the group up for various furniture exercises in kingsmead square with yet more strange looks and promises to join us soon. last stop at Sainsbury's and some ladder drills to test the agility of the group.

we took the long road back to the leisure centre, we are going the wrong way I heard them say. Lydia was delighted to have ran 6k as it was her first time doing this distance , so hats off to her.

We arrived back at the leisure centre with 5 minutes to spare, some stretches from Steph and a reminder that if you want to be paired with your very own running coach and make a massive difference in the community you just need to bring your ID along.

The sad news tonight is that many of our super Goodgymers will be heading home until January but I`m sure this is a much deserved break from all that studying, however if you are around on Thursday we have social drinks at Bar Opium from 6.30pm feel free to come along.

We have a Saturday run planned this week if you don`t fancy Christmas shopping and there may be a mince pie or two in hand.

look forward to seeing you all next week

you are amazing

Steph
