Cycled across to Clapham Common grateful that I had remembers two pairs of gloves. It was a freezing cold morning but I quickly warmed up. Having located the tree deposit I crossed across to find a street with a good crop of 🌲 litter.
Christmas trees are quite tricky to handle. They are heavy and prickly. Knowing that there would be no-one to share the load with, I had taken a strap with me that I could loop around the trunk*, hook over my shoulder and drag the tree back across The Avenue to the tree deposit. Back and forth, back and forth with a few generous offers of help (greatly appreciated but not taken up) - 5km, 7 trees and a wreath later one side of the road was completely clear of trees. Job done in time for coffee!
