This week saw 11 of us enjoy an Easter themed evening.

The fancy dress competition was won with an Egg-straordinary costume by Jason - running with a 6ft bunny was certainly a new experience!

Given our charity chick-ened out at the last minute and our emergency back-up projects had all extended their bank holidays, I got a plate full of 'out of offices'. "What to do?" I thought to myself. "Om-lettes just go for a great run instead" So we hatched our plan...

We chose the 8km run-ny route that we had been super keen to complete for a while - the North side Thames path to Barnes Bridge followed by the South side Thames path back to Hammersmith bridge - a truly egg-cellent part-off-road, no-traffic-light-stops run. With the added challenge of holding a chicken's egg for the entire route with the promise of chocolate if we did not drop it - Mission accomplished by all!

It was a tough run, but great. Our first chance to run this route in the light was very welcome. Distracted by rowers and great chat the kms soon ticked by. Luckily the weather was cool and the thermals have been retired for the year, so nobody boiled. We finished the run just in time to watch the sun set (sunny side up)...

Though we were shattered we didn't let the distance break us. We finished our session with a Circuits session... holding our eggs of course!

After we scrambled back to base (Hammersmith squash club), we had an absolutely cracking time on Brook Green with the Easter Olympics organised by our Egg-stra special Social Secretary Aska!

The competition comprised the egg throwing competition (it turns out eggs are very hard to see in low light!), an egg and spoon race and the 'how did nobody face-plant' sack race (whilst holding your egg, obviously!) It was as Egg-citing finale with the final race ending in a dead-heat - quite fitting for the level of competition shown.

We rehydrated in the pub where we poached each other's winning chocolates. Another sp-egg-tacular evening - thanks all!
