Chicken’ out the chickens 🐓
4 GoodGymers made their way to help the Canbury Community Garden in Kingston upon Thames.

GoodGym had another clucking good time at Canbury Community Gardens today. Petra, Marie-Noelle, Rachel and Dave all headed to meet the lovely Marilyn on site where today’s task was to move and spread a good ton or so of manure.
Soon after the shovelling commenced, the hens were let loose from the coop and came to give us a helping beak. Alas they were more set on finding worms and grubs in the compost as opposed to helping us shift it but they were a great source of entertainment at least.
Once the manure was spread, Marilyn had a refreshing surprise for us to say thanks. One of our local breweries, The Park Brewery, had used some hops grown at Canbury Community Garden to create a small-cask ale called The Wanderings, and Marilyn very generously shared some of this with us. Delicious and refreshing, it was the perfect way to end a lovely task.
