Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Tracey C
Mrs H has recently moved into her lovely new flat. The removals people had dismantled her furniture to get it in but it hadn’t been rebuilt for her. Enter GoodGym! The task was to reassemble two large triple wardrobes in her bedroom. There were lots of pieces with no instructions or pictures of what it should look like. Eeek! But we had logic, efficiency and teamwork on our side!
It took a while to work out which were the tops, middles and bottoms, and how the whole jigsaw fitted together, but after that we were on a roll and were super pleased with the first fully assembled wardrobe, with all fully functioning doors and drawers – hurrah! The second was done much more quickly as we had the advantage of knowing what went where by that stage.
We’d built the wardrobes in the only available space along one wall where the pieces had been stored but we were concerned that, as they were so large now that they were put together, they blocked out lots of natural light from the window and didn’t leave much space to get in and out of bed safely with all the other furniture too. With the thought of the upcoming lockdown, we offered to rearrange the room, and after consulting with Mrs H she was happy to leave the layout to us. We made a quick plan, taking into account the light switches, power sockets, emergency cord, how we could make it easier for her to move around, and where her beloved keyboard could go! With a lot more to-me to-you, everything was in its new place. At the big reveal, Mrs H was delighted! She thought the room looked lovely and was looking forward to being able to put all her things away. Sweet dreams Mrs H!
We waved goodbye and as we chatted outside we were treated to Mrs H waving and shouting goodbye to us again from her newly accessible bedroom window!
