At 90 years old and prone to falling it is understandable that my "coach's" family want to wrap her in cotton wool. As I listened to how restricted her life had become by some of the new rules they had established I was reminded of a conversation my own Mum had with her doctor when she was asked to give up sugar in her tea, the reply was "if I listened to doctors I'd have to give up everything I like so I can live forever, what's the point of that?" My "coach" then went on to tell me about the little tricks she uses to bend the rules, she may be elderly but she's resourceful and crafty and finds a way to get the best of a situation no matter what, this put me in mind of the doctor's response to my Mum "sometimes I think it's stubbornness that keeps these old dears going"
