Another incredibly successful 'Weeding Like Sunday Morning' session with GoodGym gardeners Klara, Monika, Harry and Anita performing a make-over at the Arcade in Buccleuch Gardens, Richmond.

We not only had the feelgood factor of a really successful task but we were also buoyed up by the incredibly positive response from passers by.

  1. Cutting and clearing a new flowerbed at one end of the Arcade lawn.

  2. Planting the new bed with clematis 'Rooguchi', stachys, Nicotiana 'x Sanderae Sensations' and lobelia 'pendula monsoon'.

  3. Seeding the back of the new bed with Poppy 'Paeony Black' and white Cosmos 'Purity'.

  4. Weeding and edging the large, centre section of the rockery.

  5. Planting drifts of Delospurnum Floribunda 'stardust', Phacelia parryii 'Royal Admiral' and lobelia 'pendula monsoon'

  6. Planting two Nepeta x faassenii (catmint).

  7. Watering in the new plants with bucket loads drawn from the river.

And there was even a spot of weeding and some new planting at the Three Pigeons Plot: bedding Aubretia Hybrids mix and Nicotiana seedlings (grown from seed) into a few gaps that appeared after last weeks weeding session.

Thank You to Homebase Richmond for the clematis, Alsfords Mortlake for the compost used to grow the young plants and to GoodGym members for the Nepeta and all the seedlings.
