Back to school at The Garden Classroom

Area Activator Simon met up with Ruth and the team at The Garden Classroom yesterday, offering about an hour or so of his lunch break to help with their spring time renovation project in Newington Green. The charity was set up to engage with school children through forest school trips and outdoor learning.

Our tasks included some classic moving, shoveling and wheelbarrowing of fresh soil for new planting beds. Followed by some pruning and sawing of a collection of over grown bushes and plants, and some vigorous raking and bagging of fallen leaves piling up around the flower beds.

A smashing way to start an afternoon! We have more sessions available tomorrow and on Friday:
