Relatively straight from Barnet's community mission at Stephen's House, Beth and I migrated to Westminster for a mission for Mrs J (we had a brief stop for lunch, and then another in a coffee shop ✌️😎).

Although I'd previously done a mission for Mrs J to pack some clothes, today's mission was to help tidy up her garden. In particular, we were to strim the lawn and maybe do a little garden work (without tools). I was pleased to see that Mrs J remembered me from my previous mission; I'm obviously unforgettable 😉

Frustratingly, as I'm pretty sure every GoodGymmer will testify, this week's inclement weather has not been conducive to mowing or strimming of any kind. Consequently, this mission turned into more of a pot luck gardening mission, where we were effectively allowed carte blanche in the garden to do as we pleased.

With one pair of functioning secateurs, a trowel, and a rake between us, Beth and I set onto the garden. I started off by getting rid of some superfluous foliage around an arch, while Beth got going by removing some weeds before raking up some leaves and moss towards the rear of the garden. There's something about hacking backs lots of greenery that's very satisfying to my inner chaos demon 😄

After I felt like I'd been hogging the fun job for a while, I passed the secateurs to Beth while I de-weeded. Her victim of choice was a nearby rose bush, which had become heavy under its own buds and very much needed some proper pruning.

In this manner of general tidying, we passed a happy hour or so before deciding that we should probably head off and finish our own Sunday chores before Monday rolls around 😅 We called Mrs J out to have a look, and she was very appreciative of what we'd done in the time (she even offered us a pizza as we finished up!) I think we were both glad to have spent an hour giving her garden a once-over, and look forward to a potential repeat mission to strim the lawn when it's a bit drier :)

It was fun seeing you today, Beth: Have fun at Brent's group run tomorrow and hopefully catch you again soon! 😄

GoodGym doesn't deserve the level of pun present in this run report title
