We offered our help to Lynsey at Burnage Parkrun this weekend, as they had 6 volunteer positions to fill to make the event run smoothly. Unfortunately I was the only one who could make it in the end (although my wife did volunteer with Lysney too)

It was a wet and wild one before it started so to meet the rest of the volunteers inside the Rugby Club was a warmer race briefing than anticipated! After being given our roles as Marshalls, we headed off down the muddy puddle filled path to our positions.
Soon enough the first group of speedy runners came past and I guided them round the bend, with a clap and a well done, making sure they were aware of any other runners and dog walkers. Was great to give encouragement to everyone, especially on such a cold wet day! Glad to say that the Race Directors were thankful for our help and hopefully we'll be back to volunteer again there in the future (and run the course too)
